Blessed Clean Week to all!

As we begin the season of Great Lent, we have the opportunity to spend more time together in prayer services, giving alms, and deepening our relationship with Christ. In that spirit, your Metropolis Missions & Evangelism Ministry, C.O.M.E., supports your efforts with these current activities and new resources:

  • Mochas for Missions officially began on Clean Monday and will conclude on Pentecost Sunday, June 4th. Whether your parish participates during Great Lent or at another time, we are mindful during this season of making sacrifices in our daily lives in order to give to others. And the greatest offering we can make to our fellow man is to introduce him to life in Christ. That’s what giving up Mochas for Missions is all about.
  • We spend more time at church together and our choirs and chanters put extra time and effort into practicing the beautiful hymns and preparing intricate services. As a support to your church musicians, we’ve planned a webinar with Presvytera Stacey Dorrance of Eikona. Around the Chanters’ Stand with Presvytera Stacey will take place via Zoom video conferencing on Thursday, March 9th, 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time. To sign up, please send an email to come[at] (or via our Contact Page) along with any questions or topics you’d like Presvytera Stacey to address.
  • In your personal journey to Pascha, it helps to have a roadmap. There are many great resources available online and in church bookstores, explaining liturgical themes and guiding prayer and reflection during this beautiful season. C.O.M.E.’s offering to the mix is a printable 1-page Journey to Pascha calendar that can be personalized by writing in the services at your parish, supplemented with colorful stickers, or simply used to mark the days of the Fast as you go. Find three versions of the Journey to Pascha calendar in the Resource Library.
